This role is responsible for defining the end-to-end optical architecture of 800G and 1.6T switching platforms, including emerging LPO, NPO, and CPO technologies. You will serve as the technical authority across optical, electrical, packaging, thermal, and test domains while shaping future data center networking products.

Job Description

  • Define end-to-end optical architectures for 800G and 1.6T switch platforms, including LPO, NPO, and CPO solutions.
  • Develop and manage optical link budget, power budget, TDECQ, receiver sensitivity, OSNR, and system margin allocation.
  • Translate Broadcom ASIC, PHY, and Optical Engine capabilities into product specifications and system requirements.
  • Define interfaces across Optical Engine, FAU, ELS, fiber, and connector subsystems to ensure optimal system integration.
  • Lead IEEE and OIF standards analysis, technology evaluations, and architecture trade-off decisions across multiple engineering disciplines.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Telecommunications, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in high-speed optical communication systems, data center networking, or optical transceiver technologies.
  • Familiarity with optical system architecture, signal integrity, link performance analysis, and industry standards.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence hardware, optics, packaging, thermal, and validation teams.
  • Experience with 800G/1.6T Ethernet platforms, CPO, NPO, or advanced optical interconnect technologies is highly preferred.
