Job Description

Legal Strategy & Commercial Advisory

  • Lead the legal function and provide strategic legal advice to senior management on business operations, commercial transactions, and corporate matters.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including franchise, licensing, supplier, distribution, leasing, and partnership contracts.
  • Support business expansion initiatives, including new store openings, strategic partnerships, and potential M&A activities.
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks while balancing commercial objectives and operational efficiency.



Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Oversee compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including food safety, consumer protection, labor, personal data protection, and fair trade requirements.
  • Establish and enhance legal policies, internal controls, and corporate governance frameworks.
  • Manage litigation, disputes, regulatory inquiries, and external legal counsel.
  • Provide legal guidance on employment matters, intellectual property, trademarks, and other operational risks.



People Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, coach, and develop the legal team, ensuring effective workload allocation, performance management, and professional development.
  • Partner with Finance, HR, Operations, Procurement, and Business Development to provide practical, commercially focused legal solutions.
  • Drive process improvements, standardize legal documentation, and strengthen legal awareness across the organization.
  • Manage external legal advisors and optimize legal resources and costs.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Law; qualified attorney preferred.
  • 8-12+ years of legal experience, ideally with a combination of law firm and in-house corporate experience.
  • Proven people management experience with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a legal team.
  • Strong expertise in commercial contracts, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution.
  • Experience in F&B, restaurant chains, retail, FMCG, or other multi-site consumer-facing businesses is highly preferred.
  • Commercially minded with strong business acumen, stakeholder management, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Good command of English and Mandarin.
