Job Description

  • Lead the end-to-end HR function for Taiwan for all employee segments - Office & Retail Stores.
  • Partners closely with the GM and Leadership Team in Taiwan in ensuring organizational readiness and capability to deliver business results. Supports and provides advice in structuring and developing their respective teams to maximize performance and employee engagement.
  • Develops and execute the overall HR plan for Taiwan, considering both the global initiatives as well as the local needs of the business.
  • Drives programs and initiatives that elevate its experience and EVP for employees, new and existing. This include initiatives relating to team engagement, wellness programs etc.
  • Coaches leaders & managers on talent management and performance management. Works with managers on ways to best motivate and challenge their teams to ensure employee performance, engagement and accountability. This also includes facilitating and delivering training programs for both corporate and retail employees.
  • Establishes trust with employees to help them navigate job issues; provides counsel on career development and answers general questions regarding HR programs and policies.
  • Facilitates the negotiation and preparation of contract and salary calculation, as well as the relocation process.
  • Works with regional rewards team to ensure rewards program are competitive and build business case for proposed change/s in benefit when required.
  • Continually reviewing HR policies, procedures and documentation to ensure employment and work practices follow applicable laws and regulations.
  • Accountable with payroll team to ensure precision in salary payments and accurate and timely accounting entries. Ensures Workday is up to date on employee personnel data, compensation details and organizational structure changes.
  • Work with various stakeholders and finance in preparing yearly HR budgets and quarterly forecasts of people costs.
  • Participates as team member on multi-disciplinary projects that utilize various parts of the HR organization to achieve the project's objectives.
  • Manage all employee relations matters for Taiwan in full compliance with the company policies and local regulations. Train People Managers (both office and store) on the employee relations processes.
  • Hire and develop HR team in Taiwan and keep them engaged and motivated.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Psychology or a relevant field
  • More than 8 years' HR manager experience in an MNC in Taiwan; preferably in retail, F&B, or hospitality industry.
  • Good understanding of Taiwan labour legislation and market practices as they relate to HR
  • Ability to offer solutions, provide advice, and drive resolution on people-related matters.
  • Strong team player with the ability to work with diverse groups of people and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong HRIS experience; Workday a plus.
