We are seeking an experienced Engineering Head to lead the R&D function at a major technology site in southern Taiwan. This role involves managing a large engineering team, overseeing product development and NPI activities, and collaborating closely with global leadership and manufacturing operations.

Job Description

  • Build and lead the engineering organization at the Tainan site, ensuring alignment with global R&D strategies.
  • Manage cross-functional engineering teams and oversee project development, from early-stage design to mass production readiness.
  • Collaborate with headquarters engineering leadership to ensure consistency in technical direction and execution standards.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) activities and provide engineering support to local manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with internal stakeholders, including manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams.
  • Drive talent development, retention, and organizational growth within the engineering function.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve technical challenges, and ensure timely delivery of engineering milestones.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electrical, Mechanical, Thermal Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles, including at least 3 years at the director level managing 50+ engineers.
  • Proven track record in server, enterprise hardware, or high-complexity product development.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional management skills, with the ability to drive alignment across global teams.
  • Familiarity with Taiwan labor laws and multinational compliance practices.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Mandarin.
  • Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational planning capabilities.
  • Experience in talent development, change management, and engineering process optimization.
